Justine McCarty, Board Member

Justine is retired from the Louisiana Department of Labor and since retirement she has been active in multiple prison service organizations, including: the Lifer's Organization at Angola State Prison in Louisiana; the Restorative Justice Program for Inmates at the Dixon Correctional Institute in Jackson, LA; a charter member and the first President of the Louisiana Citizens United for the Rehabilitation of Errants (Louisiana CURE); a charter member and board member for the Federal Prison Chapter of CURE (Federal CURE); and a Director on the board of St. Joseph Homes, a Baton Rouge Diocesan transitional facility for former inmates re-entering society. As a St. Joseph Homes board member Justine screens tenants for their suitability for residency and evaluates the resources needed to re-establish former inmates in the community. Her youngest son, Paul, is an inmate at the Federal Prison in Leavenworth, KS. Justine resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
